Now that the school year is in full swing and I’m back to wearing skirts and dresses with high heels most days of the week, I love being able to be really chill on the weekends - with my time and with my clothing choices. Lately, I’ve been opting for some rendition of this look - a tried and true one, made up of boyfriend jeans, a basic t-shirt, a scarf for some color and a favorite pair of flats. And that is my off-duty weekend wear, in a nutshell. What’s yours look like?

This ended up being my look on Labor Day - well until I went kayaking and then changed again into shorts because it was hot by the grill. (Yes, I had 3 outfit changes yesterday - it was just one of those days. Although, let’s be honest, that’s totally who I am too.)

What did you do over the long weekend? Honestly, I kept it pretty laid back. Did some grocery shopping and other errands, went for a couple great outdoor runs, paddled for a solid hour along the Skokie lagoon in a hunter green kayak, grilled salmon one day and burgers another, worked a little on my tan, and did very little school work. A perfect weekend, if you ask me.
