Blogger Profile - Hello Thalita

It’s been a minute since I did a blogger profile, but it’s something I loved doing back in the day and something I’d like to do more of. Plus, there are so many Chicago bloggers that deserve some recognition. So, without further ado… the first in hopefully many more blogger profile pieces. Meet Thalita Ferraz, the blogger behind Hello Thalita.

Katy: Tell me a little about the life of your blog… It’s inception, how it has grown and changed over the years, etc…

Thalita: My blog started about 2 years ago and at the time, I didn’t really focus enough on it. I spent most of my time just putting up outfits and put minimal effort into it. In the last six months I’ve really focused hard on creating more content to give girls advice on different ways to style different things and a lot of people seem to like this new approach. Though my blog is still relatively new, I’ve been on social media for 7 years so this is just me evolving into the website space.

Katy: Are you a full-time blogger/influencer or is this your side-hustle? (If not your full-time gig tell us about what you do for a living.)

Thalita: This is my full time job. I’ve been working on this “online world” for the past 7 years and I started to exclusively work for myself right around the third year of doing this.

Katy: What do you love about blogging?

Thalita: I love that I can share with the world my thoughts and tips about fashion and beauty. I also think it’s really cool how I can have such a big impact on so many people by creating content about things I think are important.

Katy: What one beauty tip would you give to every woman?

Thalita: Avoid using foundation on a daily basis and you will start to see a big difference in your skin. Instead of foundation, you can use the Studio Fix Powder from mac. It makes your skin looks amazing just like if you were wearing foundation.

Katy: What do you find the most challenging about being an influencer?

Thalita: The fashion niche is EXTREMELY competitive. I feel pressure to always create amazing content so other people notice me instead of someone else. The influencer market has changed so much in the past few years. Nowadays everybody wants to be one and because of that, it’s a lot harder than it used to be.

Katy: Instagram is toying with taking away likes here in the US. What are your thoughts about that?

Thalita: I think that’s going to hurt us influencers. Without “Likes” engagement is naturally going to go down. Fans are not going to have a reason to like your pictures which will make things harder for companies to know what influencer is best to work with.

Katy: How do you avoid falling into the comparison trap when scrolling through Instagram?

Thalita: Nowadays, I just try to avoid scrolling through Instagram. I feel like there is no point spending hours looking into other people’s pictures and just feeling bad about yourself. What I do is I just post whatever I have to post and check my feed once in awhile, maybe once or twice a day.

Katy: You’re a Brazilian living in Chicago. What brought you to the Windy City and what do you love most about this place?

Thalita: I came to Chicago a few years back to do an exchange program. That’s when I met my husband and decided to move to Chicago. I love how clean and beautiful Chicago is. I think that most people don’t realize that for such a large city, it’s absolutely beautiful. It was really love at first sight.

Katy: In your opinion, a woman’s closet is incomplete without…

Thalita: A couple of nice leather jackets.

Katy: What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

Thalita: I think it’s that I don’t give up. I’ve had some really rough business experiences in the past and though I’ve been knocked down from time to time, I always dust myself off, get up, and keep moving forward.
