I snagged this dress from Rent the Runway last month and immediately loved how easy it was to wear and how easy it was to style in a number of different ways. The dress itself is a gorgeous winter floral pattern with dark tones, but still gorgeous flowers - which really can help to cheer you up on the blah gray winter days we have been experiencing lately.
Before sending the dress back to try some new piece, I ended up wearing the dress four different ways in just a couple weeks. I’m sure given more time I could have come up with even more ways to wear this beauty.
Outfit #1:
This style was hands-down my favorite. And if you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen this look! The green moto jacket I don’t tend to wear too often, but it is one of my favorite jackets in my collection. The green suede color worked so perfectly with the green shades in the dress. Combining them was a no brainer. For the rest, I kept it simple with black tights and a pair of black booties with silver heels.
Outfit #2:
When in doubt, a denim jacket is always the first thing I reach for when trying to create an outfit with a new item. This was the original way I wore the dress - denim jacket, knee-high black boots, and the floppy winter hat, and of course chandelier earrings.
Outfit #3:
The green jacket worked so well with this dress, I figured every other hunter green item would work just as well. This vest is one I wear year long. It drapes so well that it is easy to add it as a layer to give a little structure to any look.
Outfit #4:
Honestly, this was an outfit created more out of desperation for warmth than for style. The faux-fur vest is so warm that I love wearing it on the days when there is a serious bite in the air and I need an extra layer of protection from the elements. The same goes for the knee-length boots. I prefer booties with this dress, but when it is cold you need to find a balance between fashion and functionality. Chiberia is no joke!
Do you have a favorite look of the four? Would you have worn it differently? I’d love to hear how you would, or have, styled this dress.
