Maybe it’s the cold weather and the need to always be layered, but more and more lately I find myself drawn toward skirts and dresses that fall several inches below the knee, instead of my usual knee-length preference. I like how feminine these dresses and skirts look, especially since they tend to be straight in style, giving off a very girly vibe. And simple dresses, like this one, are then easy to layer in all sorts of ways in order to create dozens of different looks with the same starting point dress.
Although, I will say these midi-style dresses and skirts are a little complicated to style as they can make your legs look short. Even with my disproportionally long legs, these can make me look a little squatter than I want, especially when paired with flats or even heeled booties. Instead, I mostly reach for high heels, and tall boots that will disappear under the hem of the dress. That still give the look of long legs.
Style Tip: To pull off these long dresses or skirts make sure you pick shoes that will elongated your legs in order to look proportionate to the length of the dress. Try a couple different style on to see how they will work.
