Coat: Calvin Klein from Burlington Coat Factory
I am a firm believer in owning colorful, bold winter coats and eschewing all the basic black, gray and navy ones that seem so prevalent this time of the year. Yes, I realize that this often makes me stand out in a sea of ‘practically-minded’ dark-coat wearers but I don’t care. (I still remember the first time I wore my vibrant pink coat to a business meeting in Chicago. The number of looks I got surprised even me, until I realized it was my coat that stood out.)
With the bitterly cold temperatures, the constant snow, the gale-force winds, and the perpetual gray days just leaving the house is a challenge. But I find it easier, although not delightful, to be able to walk out in a coat that has a little personality of its own. This cobalt blue coat is my every-day coat for when I am running errands. The down filling makes it extraordinary warm although I HATE the fact that small feathers seem to escape and cling to what I am wearing nearly every time I put it on.
Do you wear bright colors in the winter or do you tend for the more classic colors of black, gray and navy?

Both actually - if you consider white a bright color
I have a white puffer coat for every day use, a beige parka for when it’s really freezing and a light grey melange wool mix coat for when I want to look extra nice.
