Gift Idea: Beam N Read for Grandma

by katyrose on November 27, 2012

Last week I realized how spoiled I have gotten thanks to the ability to read books on my iPad and even on the tiny screen of my iPhone. I never have to worry about lighting or the hassle of reading in bed.

When I received a Beam N Read to review I had a moment in which I couldn’t figure out what I would do with it. In that moment an elderly family friend stopped by and I have never seen someone in their 80′s so excited about something so small. She practically gushed at the multitude of possibilities that the simple Beam N Read LED 6 Deluxe Hands Free offered her.

Before I knew what was happening she had the product out of the box, around her neck and over a book. She has claimed it as her own. And now when I see her each day she tells me of some new way she has used the light. She reads by it, completes Mahjong puzzles; uses it as a nightlight, a bed lamp and a flashlight in the middle of the night. She’s even fixed a hem by using the bright light and the magnifying glass that comes with it! She gushes about how easy it is to use, how steady and light it is sitting around her neck, etc…

Her love for the Beam N Read has me thinking this could be the perfect gift for my Grandmother.

To prove what a great gift this is… the Fashionistas have teamed up with the company to provide our readers with a giveaway. 10 winners will walk away with a very own Beam N Read of their own or to gift away as you see fit. You can see more on the Beam N Read Facebook page.

It’s a neat concept, but the cord around the neck would probably irritate me and become itchy…
