This year I was lucky enough to try so many new products and work with so many new brands. It’s always fun to encounter something new, especially when it becomes something you truly love and incorporate into your life as a result of a product review. This isn’t a sponsored post, just a round up the things I loved this year, which includes both things I’ve tried out for a review post and things I’ve purchased on my own.
LipSense – People have been raving about this for the whole year but I only just tried it for the first time this fall, and I have to say I am hooked. Plus, I’ve hooked my mom and at least one co-worker as well. These things seriously last all day and are so easy to wear. Fair warning – they do take a little application practice. I recommend starting with a more subtle color before going for a bold red. I get mine from Bombshell Cosmetics.
Dr. Dana Nail Renewal System – I have brittle nails that peel and break often. But this renewal system completely changed all of that! I used it faithfully at the start of the summer and ended up having beautiful nails for the rest of the summer and most of the fall too. I need to start the process again after peeling off a set of gel nails (bad, i know) and ruining my nails in the process.
It’s an easy to follow 3-step process that leaves my nails looking and feeling healthier, and shinier from the start. The line was developed by a dermatologist who was determined to provide beauty without compromise to health. Pretty sweet. Snag your own nail renewal system.
Pixi Beauty Peel & Polish – I ran out of this at the start of the month and was so sad to squeeze the last drops out of the bottle. The natural fruit enzymes loosen dead skins cells, lactic acid gently exfoliates, cellulose peels and sugar extracts polishes all in order to give me brighter more radiant skin. I’m loving the results. Plus, the Peel & Polish leaves my skin feeling so much softer than other facial scrubs I’ve tried.
Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask – This curly girl is all about the conditioner. This hair mask quickly became my favorite in a long line of conditioning products I’ve tried. I used it in the shower as my normal conditioner and as a leave-in conditioner and as a little moisture to dab into my ends. It leaves my hair feeling soft and looking radiant. And sadly I ran out last week! Time to buy some more.
Olay Daily Facials Cleansing Cloths – You know how there are times you come across something that you wonder how you lived without it before? The Olay Daily Facials are that product. My face cleansing routine has been changed forever. Before these I hated washing my face, and skipped that nightly routine more than I would like to admit. Now I use one of these every morning and every evening, and have a standing order on Amazon for every few months when I need to replenish my supply. They are easy to travel with – actually they are the only face cleanser I took on vacation. I can see these going in my gym bag too.
Lancome Matte Shaker Liquid Lipstick – When you find something you love and need it in every color! My collection of shakers includes 5 different colors, all of which I love and wear frequently. These are so thin it feels like a regular lipstick, but with a lovely matte finish that lasts for hours.
Puristy Toner Water – Another beauty product I just finished and was sad to see it end! This toner is made of flower water and smells amazing. It’s made with all these great organic ingredients like rose, lavender, and sage. It feels so fresh as it’s swiped on. It does a great job of toning the skin and removing the last remnants of dirt. I used it each morning after cleansing my face.
Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon – I never go anywhere without eyeliner and mascara, and this little product makes it super easy to apply liner and run out of the house in seconds. It goes on like a gel, but it is so much easier to apply than a tub of gel and an angled brush allows.
Lovebug Probiotics – This summer I did a a lot of research lately on the mind-gut connection and how we need to be taking care of our gut’s bacteria to live a balanced healthy life. Since trying out these probiotics in July I’ve been faithfully taking them and can say I do feel all around better! This is one of those products that I now have Amazon ship me automatically every month.
ALL Amika Products – I couldn’t begin to say which products I love the most. The conditioner is awesome. The dry shampoo is certainly one of my favorites. The hair mask is also spectacular – I use it often as an over-night nourisher. The dry conditioner is such a cool concept and one that lives in my gym bag for quick freshening up after a workout before heading in to the office. The straightening brush is my current favorite straightening tool.
DesignerShare – I may not be able to owner designer things, but now with DesignerShare you and I can rent them. This Gucci bag was mine for 10 days thanks to the company. This service allows you to rent designer pieces for a week or two. Or if you are lucky enough to have designer pieces you can rent yours out so others can share in the fun. CHICAGO peeps you’ve got to give this a try! And the company has been steadily expanding this year, so if you are outside IL DesignerShare might now be in your neck of the woods.
myWalit – Have loved this brand for years, but I’m loving it even more this year! The purse company makes the brightest, prettiest, purses out there. I am in love with the vibrant colors and the high quality design of each item.
Daniel Wellington Watches – If you are in to simple, elegant accessories, Daniel Wellington watches are for you! Each design is classic in style and well crafted! I find their watches so effortless to wear and easily paired with everything in my closet. If you are interested… Use code modlychic15 to take 15% off your order.
All Things ShopBop – Okay, I have a slight obsession with this online retailer. And yes, I have been a blog partner with them for years, but honestly so much of my closet comes from the site! What’s not to love. Certainly a good number of my favorite pieces from 2017 were purchased through ShopBop. (both tops in the above pictures are from ShopBop and were frequent fliers in my wardrobe this summer.)
eShakti – Also, a long-time love of mine, but if you keep loving something year after year that means it is really good, right?! If you haven’t purchased from eShakti before, every dress is made according to your height. You can input all your measurements to get the perfect fit. Plus, you can adjust things like neckline, sleeve length and skirt length to get exactly what you’re looking for. My Christmas dress last year and this year were purchased from eShakti. I’m sure next year’s will be too. If you are interested… use code KATYROSE to get $35 off your first purchase!
Aaptiv – I’ve tried a couple different apps this year and Aaptiv is one of two that I can’t live without. If you are a cardio girl or training for a marathon, this is the app for you! There are hundreds of workout available on the app. Each workout is guided by a trainer who encourages and pushes you through the entire process. Every workout has me pushing past what I would normally think I can do, thank in large part to their encouragement and enthusiasm! Try it for a month for free.
FitPlan – My second MUST have fitness app is Fitplan. It’s like having a personal trainer in your gym bag. You pick a trainer and a program and then follow the step-by-step instructions each time you’re at the gym. In the app you can see videos of how to do each move and track your own weight totals and reps in order to watch your progress. And it kicks my butt every time. This one is more geared toward those looking to build muscle and definition.
Mio SLICE – Best. Fitness. Bracelet. Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration since I’ve only tried 3 different fitness bracelets, but this Mio SLICE is the best fitness tracker (bracelet or app) I’ve used. This thing does it all. With the flip of a wrist you get the time. It also tracks your step count, hours slept and calories burned. But more importantly it tracks your heart rate in order to give you a more accurate reading on your lifestyle and healthy choices.
Erin Condren Life Planner – This thing is amazing!! I’ve been using it faithfully since the beginning of August when I started a new job and it has saved my life and my sanity more than once. Plus, I love that it allows me to be a little creative like my previous bullet journal attempts, while also being more structured than a bunch of blank pages.
Essential Oils and Diffuser – Since being gifted my first diffuser and set of essential oils last Christmas, this has become the year of essential oils for me! Personally, I keep an Art Naturals diffuser in my office and a second smaller one in my bedroom. Favorite oils – peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus.
