5 fitness hacks you’d learn in personal training school

This is a guest post.

Becoming a personal trainer is a feat no simple man can accomplish. It requires passion for fitness and an overall desire to help people achieve their health and fitness goals. Of course it involves a tough certification process to become a personal trainer so you need to be willing to put in hard work and great effort while in school. If you’re an aspiring fitness trainer who’s looking to get certified, you must know where to get trained. There are several training organizations that are accredited by NCCA or the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. ACSM, NASM, ACE, and NSCA are some of them. If you’re looking to get trained with ACE, take this Ace Fitness promo code ($100 off personal training study programs) to get you started. Processed with VSCO with hb1 preset

Personal training school is a journey all aspiring PTs must take. It’s not easy but it’s downright rewarding. Here are 5 fitness hacks you’d learn in PT school that’ll come handy in life:

Start your day with protein

A lot of fitness trainers swear by protein powder and whey to kickstart their morning. Adding 25 to 30 grams of protein to your breakfast will help boost muscle synthesis for the day. It also helps you recover from your previous workouts and speed up muscle growth. If you’re not a fan of protein powder, there are slower releasing protein sources that also work wonders. Try Greek yogurt and cottage cheese.

Plank daily for 5 minutes

Full time personal trainers don’t get the luxury to do their own workouts when they’re with their clients. You’d think they pretty much get paid to stay in shape and workout daily but that’s not the reality they face everyday. It’s up to them to squeeze in the right workout to keep themselves in shape. Which is why planking for 5 minutes a day is an effective workout for a lot of trainers. It’s not anything fancy but it works to strengthen the abs and core.

Eat an apple before a workout

Eating an apple before a workout helps in making you feel full and energized. It’s light enough not to bloat you, but nutritious enough to fuel you. The polyphenols present in apples helps improve your strength and endurance levels while decreasing your body fat.

Drink a lot of water

Drinking a lot of water has been a long time hack by many fitness gurus. Your PT will swear by it, your doctor will recommend it, and your body will thank you for it. Drinking a glass of water as when you wake up in the morning gives the body the much needed hydration it needs while you were asleep. It rehydrates your body and can even boost your metabolism by 25%. Drinking water is definitely something you want to make a habit of!

Stretch before going to sleep

Stretching before going to sleep helps you relax your tense muscles after a long day at the gym. It improves your muscles’ flexibility and strength and gets your body ready for quality sleep. It’s a good hack many certified trainers do to prepare themselves for the next day ahead.
