New beginnings call for new systems, plans and schemes. At the start of each school year, even this year when I’m running the school’s marketing instead of teaching full time, I try to make smarter decisions. One of the things that I’m focused on this year is health – both for me and the students. More specifically smart snacks.
One of the things I easily overlook is that mid-day pick-me-up. You know how it goes, if you don’t give it forethought the vending machine and readily available junk food becomes a seemingly viable option. But now that I am focusing on my eating habits to protect my head from migraines, these fast unhealthy fixes aren’t possible. Instead I munch on goodnessKNOWS snack bites – which are delicious and a much healthier option. Plus they are made with good-for-you ingredients that make you feel good about the mid-day boost.
These goodnessKNOWS bites are also perfect to slip a student who is feeling a little weak, forgot her lunch, or missed breakfast. The students, especially high schoolers, aren’t usually aware of their bodies and their needs. It always makes me smile when they come to visit me with claims of feeling sick, or unfocused, or weak, or in need of caffeine, and when I offer them a good, wholesome snack they often decline to later change their mind and find it helps them feel better. It doesn’t get much better than snacks made with real fruits, nuts and dark chocolate. Plus, there are no artificial colors, flavors, and high fructose corn syrup in any of these snacks. Nomnom.
Have you tried goodnessKNOWS? I’ve written about this product three times already this year because I love it that much. Honestly I could eat a whole box in a day if I didn’t pace myself. The mixed berry and almond flavor is my personal favorite, just saying. Looking to grab some of your own? Here’s a handy locator to find a store near you.
