This little black dress I’ve had for a couple years. It’s one of those pieces that I tend to reach for on days when I want to look put together but also supremely comfortable. Ladies, you all know the kind of thing I’m talking about – your fat-day clothing. Originally this dress came with a belt, which I promptly removed and stuck in the back of my collection of belts that I rarely use. This holiday look from 2015 gives shows exactly how I’ve worn this dress for years now.
Dress: Nordstrom Rack
Heels: DSW, I think (I’ve had these longer than the dress)
Purse: Adora Bags
Sunnies: Vera Wang
Bracelet: Wisewear (review coming soon)
After that, every time I styled this dress it was sans belt, which I liked just fine. But then the other day I went to put this dress on and realized without the winter layers of tights and a jacket or sweater, it was looking a little blah and shapeless. I dug around, found the original belt, strung it through the provided loops and had a conversion about belts and this dress. Now I want to wear this dress in a dozen of different styles all while belted.
Isn’t it funny how perceptions and ideas about something can change? Don’t be surprised if you see this little black dress a lot on Instagram and in OOTD posts in the weeks ahead, because it’s quickly becoming the dress I opt for on the mornings when crafting a new look is more of a challenge than it should be.
