I’m beginning to envy all the style bloggers who live in warmer or even more temperate climates. Taking outfit of the day shots in the middle of the Wisconsin winter is a practice in patience and shivering. Let’s face it, most days during the heart of winter the sky is gray and overcast. A light dusting of snow falls constantly. There is a lot of ugly sludge everywhere. The trees are all bare and look nearly dead. And taking pictures in the middle of a park without a coat on when it is a high of 9* garners more than just a few funny looks from those hurrying by all bundled up.
I took these pictures on the way home from the grocery store, hoping the iconic Domes would make a nice backdrop. Not so sure about that. In the summer it would look lovely to take pictures here. Now it is just gray domes against a gray sky and graying snow. UGH! Even a little color changing and Photoshop magic can’t do much to lighten these photos. Still I think outdoor shots look so much better than the indoor ones up against a random wall in my house, so I guess I’ll keep braving the elements and the confused stares of the passerbys.
This oversized, hi-lo sweater is actually a beautiful maroon color with leafy designs woven through it and a little ombre action going on the back. It’s gorgeous and perfect for the winter months of snow and cold. It will be in constant rotation in my wardrobe now, layered over a long-sleeved thermal t-shirt on the days when it gets bitterly cold.
