Yesterday, as I walked by the Milwaukee lakefront I smiled at the first sign of orange leaves gracing a tree. This time of year is always glorious to me. I love the crispness in the air, the changing colors, the pumpkin everything. And I LOVE the fashion each fall too. My favorite Fall 2013 trends? I could probably write a dozen posts on the things I like now, but below you’ll find my five favorite fall trends.
The Modern Combat Boot – This totally functional boot, has made its way back into mainstream fashion but this time with a little rocker edge. The combat boots are decked out with laces, buckles, studs, patterned material, bling and a whole lot more. Personally, I’m loving these inexpensive camo-accented Skechers Women’s Awol-Cute Combat Boot these super-chic brown wedge Kenneth Cole REACTION Women’s Heart Of Gold Boot and these gold-studded Steve Madden Tarnney Ankle Boot!
Patterned Pencil Skirt – This clothing item is nothing new to every woman’s wardrobe… but the pattern play is an updated take on the classic ‘office-appropriate’ skirt. No longer are pencil skirts just in the classic black, gray and navy. Now you can get a tribal inspired Joel Pencil Skirt or a boldly colored Geometric Rose Pencil Skirt or even this totally unique Graffiti Girl Jersey Pencil Skirt
Tuxedo Blazer – It seems each season there is a new take on the basic blazer. The boyfriend jacket had its moment and now it is time for the updated tuxedo-inspired blazer. They come in all sorts of colors, style and with a wide variety of accents. I’m loving the totally classic-looking BCBGMAXAZRIA Bowie Tuxedo Jacket as well as the stunning leather-accented James Jeans Ponte Combo Tuxedo Blazer and the stunning Colorblocked Tuxedo Jacket.
Leather Accents – While not a closet item in itself, the leather accents are making their way to EVERY type of clothing imaginable. Dresses, blazers, t-shirts, shoes. Now it is all about mixing materials. Cashmere with leather – sure! Ponte knit with leather – of course. And while I don’t see this trend lasting much beyond the 2013 cold season, I do think it’s a fun way to update your closet with some inexpensive trendy pieces such as this easy-to-wear Open Front Cardigan Shirt or this classic Adrienne Vittadini Sleeveless Leather-Trimmed Dress.
Oxblood – Admittedly I am a little obsessed with this color. As someone who cannot wear red in nearly every shade, this deep burgundy color is so perfect. Plus it is an amazing neutral while veering away from the black and gray that seems to permeate my closet in the colder months. I would add this adorable Susana Monaco Adele 17 Dress to my closet in a heart beat; as well as the Ted Baker Bebu Skirt and the Leatherette Sleeve Twill Jacket.
What about you? What fashion trends are you loving for Fall 2013?
