So this dress is what I wore on New Years. But the bummer is that ALL the photos that were taken that night turned out horribly discolored and funky. Of course, a New Year’s party, which starts at 11pm, is not exactly going to be the most well-lit place in the world. I hoped the white wall would help with all the yellow lighting. Not the case. I tried tweaking in Photoshop – changed the exposure, the coloring, the vibrancy – and yet nothing worked to take what looks like a non-descript dark color to the beautiful plum this dress is. Even the intricate beading at the collar looks weird. BOO!
As a result the pics have been sitting on my computer waiting to be posted for weeks now. (I’m only gracing you with two of the photos.) I’ve tried editing them again, but to no avail. Nothing is going to make the colors right, nothing short of re-creating the entire look just for a photo shoot. So. Not. Happening. So suffice it to say… this dress is a beautiful deep purple color. I paired it with gray patterned tights.
One of my New Year’s resolutions was to start wearing more red lipstick, so I did start the year off right and swiped on a red color before heading out for the night. And thankfully Instagram managed to capture that better than any of these pics.

What a bummer that the color didn’t show up in the pics! It looks great on you though, whatever the color is, and I’m diggin’ the red lipstick! (I’m not brave enough for red, I would look like a clown, lol)
