When I was little my mother used to sew matching dresses for me and my sisters. They all coordinated but weren’t exactly the same. There are some seriously embarrassing family Christmas pictures as a result. But the tradition of a new Christmas dress is one that I have clung to even now that my mom is no longer dressing all of us in new home-made dresses.
This number from eShakti was one I immediately fell in love with. Back in the middle of November I added it to my cart and continued to peruse the site. When I went to finally make the purchase, a couple hours later, the dress was sold out!!! NO! I waited a couple weeks, checking every few days for the dress to be re-stocked, until FINALLY it was back. I made the purchase as quickly as possible, working hard to ignore every other dress on the site. Placing the order a couple weeks before Christmas I wasn’t sure if it would arrive in time, but the doorbell rang at 9am on December 24th, and there was the DHL box containing my dress. Perfect timing.
This shade of emerald is the reason I love the Pantone color of 2013! The dress is sleeveless so with the Wisconsin temperatures dipping to the 20′s I needed another layer to survive the day. But with the higher waist and the intricate lave pattern on the top, I didn’t want to hide it completely under a jacket. I went with this black sweater, tying it off along the dress’s waist line to keep the silhouette in place.
Tip: In love with something? Make the purchase and then continue perusing the site. No sense in loosing out on your favorite item because other people are snatching it up.

I’ll have to see if I can dig some up. The benefit of having a childhood before Facebook was big is the fact that all those horrible pictures are not up for public consumption. HA!
I love your hair. The cut and color fit your face very well.
