Another Thanksgiving… Another chance to step-back and look at all the things in my life that I am grateful for. The list is long so I decided to focus on the little things that I feel blessed to have in my life.
What I’m grateful for in 2012:
Words of praise and encouragement issued after a job well done.
Emails that arrive out of the blue and brighten the whole day with their inbox arrival.
The old beat-up car I drive that manages to successfully get me from point A to point B without trouble.
Music that can move the heart and soul.
Magical sunrises that start the day off right.
The crunch of fall leaves beneath my feet.
Free swag that comes as a perk of being a fashion blogger.
Cinnamon gingerbread latte’s from Pete’s – my new favorite coffee drink.
The Princess Bride, Beauty and the Beast, and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers – three of my favorite movies of all time.
Sleeping under a quilt made with love by my mother.
Free Wi-Fi and coffee shops that let me stay for hours.
A job that is honestly a dream come true.
Good gym shoes and scenic running paths.
The roadtrip I made this summer with a friend to Niagara Falls.
Text messages and the ability to let a friend know I am thinking of her in just a few words.
Facebook, so I can stay connected to friends spread out across the country and around the world.
Flowers that grow out of cracks in the sidewalk.
The architecture of Chicago.
My iPhone and the apps that make my life easier.
The voices of Johny Lang, Rob Thomas, Jason Aldean, Ryan Adams and Garth Brooks. (A random assortment, I know.)
Publishing my second young adult novel and being 1/3 of the way through the next one.
My dad who took time out of his busy day to talk with me for 20 minutes while his to-do list grew.
My mom who always buys my favorite foods and drinks, even if I am only stopping by for a few hours.
My sister Amanda and the way she looks at her two children with true profound love.
Emily’s determination and sporting spirit.
Tom driving up to attend a lame car show with me, just because I asked.
Peter’s love for country, family and duty.
Monica’s drive – it has her playing two college sports and taking 17 credits during her first college semester.
Joe’s dogged pursuit of the lifegoal he identified years ago.
Sam’s unassuming way of being.
Nick and his politican-in-the-making personality.
Lifelong friends – the ones that are going on 17+ years – and all the memories and heartache we’ve shared.
My readers, the one who have discovered ModlyChic this year and the one who have been around for years! You’re the best!!
What little things are you thankful for?
