Colorful Silk Pants

by katyrose on August 22, 2012

I honestly think there is not a single color that cannot be paired with these pants. When I bought them I was envisioning a lot of black and white combinations. But the longer these silk pants hang in my closet the more I find new colors to match with them. This deep coral or orange-red shirt matches really well with one of the red tones in the design. To further pull the pants into the look, I added the teal and gold necklace. It’s not an exact color match to the shirt, but the colors work well in the overall look.

And can I just say for the millionth time – I LOVE these pants! Talbots?! Who would have guessed. The only bummer… I stepped on a loose string and pulled the hem out of my left leg. The rest of the day I kept the hem in place with some carefully placed bobby pins. When I finally make it to Chicago at the end of the month I’m going to have my mom fix the hem before heading on to Milwaukee. It pays to have a mom who is great with a sewing machine.

Tip: Get creative with your color pairings. The typical black or white combinations are great but they can be limiting. Experiment.

The pattern on those pants is almost a neutral it’s so colorful (and it’s light base makes it not over-the-top which is great). As usual, you look fantastic!

And way to be resourceful with bobby pins to fix your hem!
