I have to admit that I am completely and entirely obsessed with maxi skirts and maxi dresses this season. Not that this is anything new for me. The last couple summers I have donned more than one maxi dress in a variety of ways. Now the dresses and skirts are even more prevalent. YAY!!
I find it exciting to try and remix the maxi dresses in a variety of ways, especially one like this since the pattern is more difficult to work with than a solid-colored dress. So far I have only matched this one with cardigans and other jackets. So this time I tried layering a shirt over the dress and knotting it to create more of a shape than the shirt would automatically do over the maxi.

Tip: To create shape try knotting a t-shirt. It cinches the waist and creates a silhouette that would otherwise be missing.

Yes! I’ve been buying maxi skirts like crazy! I can see myself wearing them anywhere and everywhere… especially with a top like that.

I just love maxi skirts and dresses and wear them all the time in the summer, off-duty that is. There’s not really a dress code where I work, however, so I might experiment a little to see if I can make one of my dresses or skirts “work for work”:)
