Earlier this month I attended the StyleFixx event with several friends and a number of fellow bloggers. The event, which showcased a number of local and national companies, was held at the Boston Center for the Arts. Figuring out what to wear to such an event is a bit tricky. Going into it I knew the event would be high on style – it’s in the name afterall. At the same time it was raining and completely gross out. Plus, I took a couple friends who aren’t bloggers and they were worried about their attire. The days before they were making fun of me when I said I would likely go in jeans.
In the end I did go in jeans but I ended up in black cropped skinnies instead of the typical blue denim. Instead of worry much about the top I went with something light and flowy, to deal with the damp mugginess of the day, and then dressed the whole look up with a statement necklace. The necklace, from H&M, got a lot of compliments so I think it was the right choice.
Tip: I say it often, go simple and then add a single statement piece.
