Easter Colors – an FBFF post

Easter is this weekend and while it is a more mellow commercial holiday than Christmas, it is still something that I enjoy celebrating and have since childhood. Back when I was little my ever-talented mother would make us girls new dresses at Easter time. We got to wear the new dress, which occasionally also included an Easter bonnet, to mass on Easter morning and then to the family party that inevitably followed. While I do not buy a new dress every Easter, it is certainly one of the times in the year when many retailers offer dress sales for just this reason. Now, I try to step-up any normal dress in my closet going that extra step to dress nicely for the day.

Do you buy a new Easter dress yearly or every few years??

Lately I’ve been admiring from afar these ASOS dresses… I like that they are a little different from anything you can find in your usual retailer at the moment and yet totally on target for what’s current.

I love that first dress!! So pretty! Having never celebrated Easter as a kid, there were no new Easter dresses, and Passover wasn’t the time for new holiday clothes for us (that was saved for Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur, when we actually went to temple). Now I celebrate Easter with the hubby’s fam though… though I haven’t yet started buying new clothes for Easter specifically.
