This weekend, some friends and I paced ourselves into two cars and took off for Vermont. There were no plans, except trying to ski at least one day. Personally, I like weekends like this the best. With no plans, no where to be, nothing to do; you have the opportunity to do whatever you want, whatever catches your eye. And, with no plans, you are never disappointed that things don’t work out exactly as planned. It’s a win win.
We went skiing on Saturday and explored the town of Stowe, eating some delicious burgers at the Rusty Nail while listening to live music. On Sunday we toured the Harpoon brewery as well as the Magic Hat brewery and the Ben & Jerry’s store. To top it off we watched the sunset over Lake Champlain and then made an amazing Italian dinner and chilled while watching a movie. On Monday we checked out the Von Trapp Family lodge, sampled Green Mountain coffee at its visitor’s center, stopped by the Morse Farm for maple syrup samples and drove through the capital. It was overall a wonderfully fun and unexpected weekend.
