Boston Blogger Holiday Fiesta – recap

I can’t believe the Boston Blogger Holiday Fiesta came and went so quickly. What a great event filled with so many amazing local bloggers! Alison, from Long Distance Loving, and I had fun planning and pulling off the event and hope that it will be the beginning of many more such networking and social opportunities. (hint: stay tuned for information about our January event!)

For those of you who couldn’t make it and all my out-of-town readers, the party was held at one of my favorite local bars: Mass Ave Tavern. They provided the space and amazing appetizers. (Fried pickles, nachos, buffalo wings, the works…) Also EventBrite, the Swapaholics, and Pretzel Crisps, provided goodie bag swag. We also collected a great collection of little gifts to donate to Toys for Tots and did a gift swap between the attendees.

Check out more pictures from the event on the ModlyChic FB page.

I’m glad so many Bostonians were able to make it out for the Wednesday-night event. To see the full list of RSVPs and to check out their blogs you can view the eventbrite page.

I was so impressed with the number of people who came dressed in party attire. Glitter, sequins and other sparkly items were top on the list. There were some amazing party clutches in the group! I finally got the chance to wear these amazing pair of glitter-covered heels from the etsy shop of MsKelli. They are perfect for the holidays and although they made me a head taller than a number of the other guests, I still loved the feel of those heels. The dress was another item waiting to get out of my closet. A purchase months ago from Rescue, I haven’t found an opportunity to wear it, and despite a slight zipper problem that nearly resulted in an outfit change, it is the perfect combination of fun pattern and dressy frock.

Tip: Hosting your own local event for bloggers or friends is a lot easier than you may think. Go for it. It’s always fun to get people to come together for a night out.

Dress: thrifted from Rescue
Jacket: Ann Taylor
Tights: Target
Belt: New York & Co.
Shoes: c/o MsKelli

What a great idea! Later this week, I’ll do a how-to post on planning a mixer. It’s pretty easy to be honest.
