Yup, you guessed it… today we will be talking about shoes. A favorite topic of mine, well at least in the warmer weather months.
1.What is your go-to pair of shoes? Do I have to pick just one? At the moment I wear my black studded flats a lot because they are a little edgy but still go with everything. But I’ve started to transition to the yellow sling-back flats which are a staple in my summer wardrobe!
2. What goes into your shoe buying decisions? Well, mostly the first question is… does it come in my size. Being an 11 *gasp* it is more than a little challenging to find fun shoes in that size and ones that don’t make me look like I have clown feet. On the other hand it certainly speeds up the buying process since 11s are easy to spot and luckily every pair of 11 fits.
3. The majority of the shoes in your closet are what color? For the fall and winter pretty much everything is black. But for the summer I’ve got a lot of bold colorful designs – floral, geometric shapes, coral, etc… I suppose this reflects my wardrobe as well. Black in the cold months color in the warm ones.
4. When it comes to designer shoes what are your favorite brands and why? I’m a sucker for anything and everything Michael Kors and miraculously I just stumbled across a pair of gold Michael Kors heels at a thrift store in my size – talk about meant to be! I’m also a huge fan of Jimmy Choo shoes! I used to walk by the store front in Manhattan and look in longingly. Now her collection is all sorts of animal print-wonderful. And we know I love my animal print.
5. If price wasn’t an issue, you’d own which shoe? I suppose Jimmy Choo would have to be my answer to this as well. If I found these in a thrift store you can bet they wouldn’t be there long!

I so agree with the staple items of some black flats with studs (or bows for more ‘girly’ days) – without those I would be lost. I also have some tan ones (wearing today) and my summer staples are gold pumps or sandals. I love the way they shine and the gold makes the sandal look smarter somehow!
Really enjoyed doing this post and having the opportunity to show the Chanel gun heel shoes and the McQueen heart peep toes! Amazing! x

I greatly sympathize with your size 11 feet. I wear 12s. Talk about selection – I wish desperately I wore 10s or 11s at least then there would be some choices. I make sure I let companies know that big feeted women like us are out there and want more choices. It’s slow but there has been better selection than in the past (I’ve worn a 12 since I was 13).

I am so there with you and the size issue. I got the “Clown feet” as well, but I am actually small footed when comparing it to my height of 6’2”. It is still easier for me to buy shoes than pants

I would not have thought you had feet that big. I’m only a 9 and I always think my feet look huge! Definitely agree with the Jimmy Choos, I will own a pair one day! A far away day maybe, but a girl can dream!

LOVE Jimmy Choo shoes! They are simply amazing and therefore an excellent choice for a dream shoe.
I can’t imagine trying to find shoes for a size 11 foot! I think once you hit a 9, the choices are more limited, which stinks for a lot of people these days. I have three friends that are shorter than my 5’11″ and have feet that sizes 10 and up. They really have to hunt for cute shoes and it can be a bit of a pain. I wish you all the luck in the world with it!!!

I have the opposite problem to some of the commenters here – I have really small feet, and a very high arch, that makes wearing heels miserable. Any tips for making heels more bearable?

Nordstrom, Endless, and Zappos are all really good for special sizes if you don’t mind ordering online. The last two have free shipping and free returns as well!
