When I first stumbled across the blog Court & Hudson I figured, based on the name, that is was a couple’s blog that had morphed into a fashion blog over time. But that’s not the case – it’s the personal style blog of Christine (who by the way has my dream job!!). She works in New York, lives just outside the city and gets paid to do social media all day – it doesn’t get much cooler than that. Check out what she has to say about her blog, fashion and beauty:
When did you start the blog? I started the blog two years ago, but have only recently found my niche and desire to put the time and effort in that a blog requires

How has your blog changed over the months/years? I started off as a wedding blogger documenting my wedding journey, but as the wedding has since come and gone, and my love of style hasn’t I made the big switch!
City you are based out of: Hoboken/New York City
How does your location help or hinder your blog? NYC offers one of the most diverse landscapes for style photo imagery, one of the best cities for discovering hidden treasures and one of the best locales for fashion, DIY, and design. But it’s a big city and it is easy to get swallowed up in the minuitia of the daily grind, the hustle and bustle and the people. To me NYC is all about perspective, as long as you have one, it can be exactly the city you want it to be.
What would you say the mission of your blog is? As a creative outlet – blogging can be a hobby that does not require classes or money, As a way to express myself, and as a means to share the fact that style is not something that can be bought, it does not need to be expensive, it just needs to be you.
How many hours a week do you spend working on it? 10-15 depending on the week, sometimes more, sometimes life makes any hours impossible

How has this blog changed your life? it has helped me realize the bigger picture for my life, what I aspire to be and which direction I hope to take things in the future
Besides this blog, what do you do professionally? Director of social media for some of the largest + coolest beauty companies in the world
In 5 words or less how would you describe your personal style? constantly changing + ever evolving
What would you say is the hardest part about blogging? Finding the time, staying true to yourself + not what everyone else is doing and curating content that is of quality and not just posting for the sake of posting

What is the most rewarding part? hearing from readers that something on my site inspired them, building a voice that people want to listen to
What is your one golden piece of shopping advice? don’t let others dictate your style – shop alone!
If you had to pick one mantra for life, what would yours be? “You were born original. Don’t die a copy.”
What are your favorite items in your closet? GAP Really Skinny black pants (they’re dressy, they’re casual, they’re amazing), L.A.M.B. bucket bag (it holds everything!), grandmother’s vintage jacket (priceless)
In your opinion, every woman should own: a great watch, an amazing “I-can’t-walk-in-these” pair of shoes, a blazer that makes you feel fierce + feminine, and a perfect carryall

A woman’s most beautiful feature is her: mind
Where do you see your blog in 5 years? hopefully still trucking right along – I don’t like to jinx the future!
What in your wardrobe could you not stand to part with, ever? I don’t have a ton of sentimental feelings towards my clothing, not even my wedding dress, so nothing comes to mind
What would you say to a woman who bemoans the fact that she is not the ‘ideal’ bodyshape? there is no such thing as ideal, otherwise everyone would look the same. You are who you are for a reason and that should be celebrated!
What are some of your favorite blogs to read? Atlantic-Pacific, B Jones Style, Sterling Style, Kendi Everyday, Lucy Laught

Do you have an fool-proof home beauty remedies? Not really….
What is the most innovative fashion statement you’ve rocked? I was wearing leggings with lace when I was eight…SUCH a trendsetter I tell you ; )
One trend you would like to never see again is: I love blousy harem pants, but what’s with the drop crotch? WHY?
For the spring you are coveting: COLOR!! 70s!! (my two favorite things, so glad they’re back in a big way!)
Favorite designer: Suno + Lauren Moffatt
Favorite color to wear: Right now – coral + pinks, I don’t want to wear anything in my closet unless it’s a bright shade of the rainbow

Favorite fashion accessory: Statements – necklaces, bracelets + rings; I’m not much of an earrings kind of gal
Which celebrities style do you envy? I don’t really envy any style but I appreciate Nicole Richie, Fearne Cotton, and Olivia Palermo’s style – as they all are similar to the many moods of my own

Great post! I love this blog and it was great to see it from a different perspective. I also love the idea of profiling different people each week as I love to discover new blogs to read and be inspired by.

As someone who was born and raised in NYC and now lives a block away from the NYC border, I can completely relate to her idea about how easy it can be to lose perspective inside the hustle and bustle of the city. Sometimes you need a little distance to collect your thoughts (but not too much!).
