Outfit 19 of 30: One of the best parts about vacationing in New England is the amazing historic places that can be visited by taking a short car ride. My friends and I headed to Newport, RI. While there we toured Rosecliff mansion, ate at Flo’s and of course walked a portion of the amazing cliff walk.
The day was a little chillier than it had been recently so I went with a pair of shorts and a 3/4-length thin sweater. It was the perfect combination for indoors and outdoors in New England. At this point in the 30 for 30 challenge it was difficult to come up with a new dressed-down look. And to be honest I had no idea if this ruffled and studded tank top would work with the striped sweater and pleated shorts. It certainly helped to tuck the tank in – honestly, it looked silly pulled out, because of course I tried that first. And yes, I do know my hair is doing some weird stick-out ear thing. Of well. It was one of those days.
More pics of the day in Newport below.
Tip: Tucking your shirt in does not have to be ‘that’ look, which your mom or grandmother has unfortunately rocked for too many years.
Shorts: TJ Maxx
Tank: New York & Co.
Sweater: Old Navy
Shoes: Target
Hat: H&M
Bag: homemade by my mom (I’ll be giving one away this week!!)
Photographing inside Rosecliff was prohibited. I tried to snap some flash-less photos in the fashion exhibit on the second floor, but of course none of them turned out. That’s what I get for trying to be a rebel. So, these are pictures of the garden, front of the house, Flo’s Clam Shack and the amazingly beautiful cliff walk.

Haven't had brekkie yet and that plate full of food's calling me, super hungry now!
Love the images of New England… that one shot of the mansion reminds me of Hampton Court Palace and Kew Garden near my folks place in UK.
