Plum Tired

by katyrose on May 26, 2010

After nearly pulling an all-nighter working on a freelance assignment that I wanted to be nearly perfect, I was in no shape to put a huge effort into my appearance. At the same time, by now you know I do not believe in walking around town in sweat pants and grubby t-shirts. I met a friend for coffee, so I couldn’t sit outside Starbucks looking like a bum.

This plum-colored top is the perfect solution. It is a basic t-shirt. Fits well, feels comfortable, but the fun necklace-like pattern around the neck dresses it up. Then I added the brushed gold earrings, a few thin bangles and that was all I had time and energy for.

I cuffed my jeans, but instead of folding them in so that the underside showed I folded them up and then over. To be honest, it was a spur of the moment decision to fold them this way, but I think it will be on repeat in my wardrobe this summer.

Tip: Have a few statement t-shirts. They should be items that fit and feel like your grubby ones, but look like you took serious thought when dressing that morning.

You don't look tired at all! I love this shirt, it really is a great way to look dressed and put together, which you do.

Now I have to go find one just like it. :)
